Bespoke Process

Bespoke Process

 Consultation + Design

The bespoke process is unique and tailored to each individual.  The process begins with an initial consultation (this can be conducted through email, by phone or in person) depending on your location and availability.   During the consultation we will discuss design options (this is often accompanied by a Pinterest board of your creation) which will provide an idea of your style and silhouette.

The uniqueness of a bespoke gown comes through during the design phase, in which you are able to combine different bodice shapes with any skirt shape of your choice.  Basically, you can mix and match elements of your gown until you come up with the perfect design.  You no longer have to settle for a gown that is not quite right.

Patterning + Draping

The patterning phase will begin by draping muslin on your form to create a bodice that fits your exact dimensions.  If you are unable to be present for the bespoke process, the bodice form will be patterned off of your measurements.

*You will be provided with detailed instructions on how to take your own measurements if you are unable to have them professionally done.

Fabrics + Embellishments

There are a wide range of fabrics to choose from and I will help guide you through the tough choice of picking the right one for your bespoke gown.  There are several options for silk fabrics, that come in various weights and transparency such as; chiffon, charmeuse, georgette, crepe, satin, velvet, etc.

If you wish to supply your own fabric for your gown, then I will be happy to guide you with the correct amount of yardage needed.

Fittings

There will be several fittings conducted during the bespoke process, all of which will be dictated by what fits best with your schedule and timeframe.  The creation of a bespoke gown is determined by the length of the design process, the creation or building of your gown and any embellishments (ie. hand beading, etc.) that it my require.  This can range from one month and up to six months depending on the complexity of the design.
